Description of Position

We are seeking a part-time coordinator (8 hours per week on average) with a flexible schedule to provide administrative and project management support to our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice committee and agency leadership. As coordinator, you will help our DEIJ committee reach its aspirational goals which are intertwined with our organization’s mission.

This role is great for someone who is passionate and devoted to finding an inclusive path forward. You will be an integral part of the committee as you coordinate and track initiatives and assist committee and agency leadership in finding meaningful avenues to support employee education and involvement, systems review, reporting, and communications to execute committee objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support Committee Leadership: Facilitate meetings, set agendas, remain on the lookout for opportunities for improvement, and support the committee’s work to advance DEIJ goals
  2. Organize DEIJ Events: Plan and execute events that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice within the organization and the community
  3. Track DEIJ Initiatives: Monitor DEIJ activities and strategies across departments to stay informed about their progress and impact
  4. Collaborate with Stakeholders: Engage with CCBC programs, internal and external stakeholders, affinity groups, and other committees to gain insights, serve as a resource, and be the point person for all DEIJ efforts
  5. Education: Stay informed on new DEIJ trends and ongoing training

Qualifications

  • Some knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding access, equity, diversity, inclusion, implicit bias and institutional racism
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a timely manner
  • Lived or professional experience working with and building relationships with underserved or underrepresented communities and community partners
  • Confident communicating with wide range of stakeholders verbally and in writing
  • High attention to detail, critical thinking, and heightened awareness of organizational impact
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours based on project needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Some educational background or working knowledge in DEIJ, social justice, or related fields. Additional training will be provided as needed/recommended
  • Experience facilitating discussions or training on DEIJ-related topics
  • A commitment to ongoing education and professional development in DEIJ
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple priorities
