Description of Position

Community Counseling of Bristol County is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse Manager to join the Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) team in Taunton. This role provides client-facing nursing care and clinical support to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use concerns, while also supervising RN and LPN staff within the CBHC. The RN Manager works as part of a multidisciplinary team to address clients’ social, emotional, psychiatric, and medical needs across the lifespan. The ideal candidate is compassionate, self-motivated, clinically sound, and committed to the principles of hope, recovery, and person-centered care.

Responsibilities Include:

In addition to overseeing RN/LPN staff, the RN Manager will also provide medical support to the daily operations of the CBHC. These tasks will include:

  • Collaborate with nursing staff and leadership to develop policies and procedures.
  • Supervise RN and LPN staff and oversee CBHC nursing operations.
  • Prioritize client-facing direct care while supporting the daily clinical and nursing needs of CBHC clients.
  • Triage clients and provide brief crisis counseling, risk management, and safety planning as needed.
  • Coordinate integrated health services for CBHC clients, including vital signs, CIWA/COWS assessments, and other screenings as appropriate.
  • Coordinate medical care, referrals, and record requests with primary care, hospital, behavioral health, and substance use treatment providers.
  • Provide health and wellness psychoeducation.
  • Reconcile medications, complete prior authorizations, administer injections, and facilitate urgent-care psychopharmacology appointments.
  • Complete vital signs, urine screens, and supply quality testing as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with pharmaceutical representatives and oversee medication sample storage and inventory.
  • Support MOUD clinic operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited and/or approved RN program
  • Current, unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least two (2) years of experience in a human services or behavioral health setting; experience serving individuals across the lifespan with serious mental illness and substance use concerns preferred
  • Must possess good organizational skills and effective written, verbal, and computer skills.
